Properties and uses of Trisodium Phosphate_Trim

Trisodium phosphate, colorless to white acicular crystal or crystalline powder, dodecahydrate melting point 73.4°C. Soluble in water, its aqueous solution is strongly basic; Insoluble in ethanol, carbon disulfide. It is one of the important product series of phosphate industry. Because of its special properties, it is widely used in modern chemical industry, agriculture and animal husbandry, petroleum, papermaking, detergent, ceramics and other fields. Trisodium phosphate Chemical Properties: It is easily deliquesced and weathered in dry air to produce sodium dihydrogen phosphate and sodium bicarbonate. In water it is almost completely decomposed into disodium hydrogen phosphate and sodium hydroxide. Heated to 55 ~ 65°C into decahydrate, heated to 60 ~ 100°C into hexahydrate, heated to 100°C above become a monohydrate, heated to 212°C above become anhydrous. A 1% aqueous solution has a pH of 11.5 to 12.1.
