SKYSIL SS-180 SILICON DIOXIDE POWDER FOR INK

SS-180 is a high-precision silica matting agent designed for gravure, lithographic, screen printing and special printing inks. With a narrow

particle size distribution (D50) of 4.0-4.5μm and precise oil absorption value control technology, it can achieve excellent matte effect while

significantly optimizing the rheological properties and printability of inks. This product has become an ideal solution for high-resolution printing

scenarios through innovative surface modification processes.

- Precise adaptation of oil absorption value

The oil absorption value (DOP method) of SS-180 is strictly controlled in the range of 260-320g/100g, and the ink performance is enabled

through the following mechanisms:

• Dynamic balance of viscosity: selective adsorption of resin and solvent to avoid sudden changes in system viscosity caused by excessive

oil absorption, ensuring high-speed transferability of gravure inks and leveling of lithographic inks;

• Process compatibility: Adaptable to high-solid solvent-based, water-based and UV inks, excellent compatibility with epoxy and polyurethane

resins, avoiding stratification or granulation.

- Small particle size and high precision advantages

• 4.0-4.5μm fine particle size: Form a uniformly dispersed network in the ink layer to avoid the risk of screen printing blocking, while giving the

coating a delicate touch and high clarity;

• Anti-sedimentation enhancement: Surface hydrophobic modification technology inhibits particle agglomeration, ink storage period > 180 days

without hard precipitation, fluidity retention rate > 97%;

• Drying synergy: Open pores accelerate solvent release, and hot air drying can shorten the drying time by 20%-30%.

- Special printing enhancement

For metal printing, anti-counterfeiting ink and other scenarios, its small particle size characteristics can form micron-level surface textures, improve

wear resistance by 25% (500g/500 tests), and ensure the sharpness of complex pattern edges.

- Application areas

• Gravure/lithographic printing: food-grade matte packaging, book and magazine color pages, scratch resistance increased by 30%;
