Characteristics of TOKYO KEIKI Solenoid Valves:

 

  1. Elimination of External Leaks and Controllable Internal Leaks for Safe Operation: External and internal leaks are critical safety hazards. Other control valves typically extend a valve stem, which is controlled by electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic actuators to rotate or move the valve core. This often involves addressing the challenge of long-term dynamic sealing to prevent external leaks. Solenoid valves, however, operate using electromagnetic force acting on an iron core sealed within a magnetic isolation sleeve, eliminating the need for dynamic sealing and thus easily preventing external leaks. Electric valves can be difficult to control in terms of torque, leading to potential internal leaks or even breaking off the valve stem head. The structural design of solenoid valves makes it easy to control internal leaks, reducing them to zero. Therefore, solenoid valves are particularly safe to use, especially in applications involving corrosive, toxic, or high/low-temperature media.

Simple System, Easy Computer Connection, and Cost-Effective: Solenoid valves have a simple structure and are relatively inexpensive, making them easier to install and maintain compared to other types of actuators like control valves. More importantly, the automation system they form is much simpler and significantly less expensive. Since solenoid valves are controlled by on/off signals, they are very easy to connect to industrial computers. In today's era of widespread computer use and significantly reduced prices, the advantages of solenoid valves are even more prominent.

 

  3. Fast Actuation, Low Power Consumption, and Compact Design: The response time of solenoid valves can be as short as a few milliseconds, and even pilot-operated solenoid valves can be controlled within tens of milliseconds. Due to their self-contained circuit, they react more sensitively than other control valves. Properly designed solenoid valve coils consume very little power, making them energy-efficient products. They can also be designed to only require a trigger action to maintain the valve position, consuming no power during normal operation. The compact size of solenoid valves saves space and is both lightweight and aesthetically pleasing.

 

  4. Limited Adjustment Precision and Media Compatibility: Solenoid valves typically have only two states: on and off. The valve core can only be in two extreme positions and cannot be continuously adjusted, so the adjustment precision is somewhat limited. Solenoid valves have high requirements for media cleanliness and are not suitable for media containing particulate matter, which must be filtered out first. Additionally, they are not suitable for viscous media, and the viscosity range of media applicable to specific products is relatively narrow.

Diverse Models and Wide Range of Applications: Despite their inherent limitations, solenoid valves have many outstanding advantages, leading to the design of a wide variety of products to meet various needs and making them extremely versatile. Advances in solenoid valve technology focus on overcoming these inherent limitations and better leveraging their inherent advantages.
