CNC milling machine is an automatic processing equipment developed on the basis of general milling machine, the processing technology of the two is basically the same, and the structure is also somewhat similar. 2. Classification according to machine tool form
(1) Horizontal machining center refers to a machining center with the spindle axis set in a horizontal state. Horizontal machining centers generally have 3-5 motion coordinates. Common has three linear motion coordinates (along the X, Y, Z axis) plus a rotary coordinate (table), which can make the workpiece clamping to complete the processing of the remaining four surfaces except the installation surface and the top surface. Horizontal machining centers have a wider range of applications than vertical machining centers, and are suitable for the processing of complex box parts, pump bodies, valve bodies and other parts. However, the horizontal machining center occupies a large area and weighs a lot; The structure is complex and the price is high.
(2) Vertical machining center refers to a machining center with the spindle axis line set in a vertical state. The vertical machining center generally has three linear motion coordinates, the table has indexing and rotation functions, and a horizontal axis CNC turntable can be installed on the table to process spiral parts. Vertical machining centers are mostly used for the processing of single boxes, box covers, plate parts and plane cams. Vertical machining center has the advantages of simple structure, small footprint and low price.
(3) Gantry machining center, similar to gantry milling machine, is suitable for processing large or complex workpieces.
(4) Universal machining center, universal machining center, also known as five-sided machining center, small workpiece clamping can complete the processing of all surfaces except the installation surface; It has the function of vertical and horizontal machining centers.
