Gearbox / Transmission Housing

A transmission housing is a device used to install the housing structure of the transmission mechanism and its accessories. It can be manufactured by CNC engraving, sand casting, transparent acrylic(PMMA/PC) 3D Printing.

Basic terminology for gears:
(5) Overdrive. That is, the speed of the output shaft is higher than the speed of the input shaft.
(6) Number of files. Refers to the number of gears that a stepped gear transmission has. The number of gears in common use is four to five, while three-speed transmissions are rare. The more the number of gears, the better the adaptability of the car to the driving conditions, the lower the fuel consumption, but the more complex the transmission mechanism and the control mechanism, making the operation difficult and the cost high.
(7) Low grade, high grade. In the transmission gear, the small number of the gear is called low gear, the smaller the number of the gear, the greater the transmission ratio, the greater the traction, and the lower the speed. If the transmission ratio of first gear is the largest in the forward gear, the speed is the lowest, and the traction is the largest. The higher the number, the smaller the transmission ratio, the smaller the traction, but the higher the speed.
(8) Shift gears. The transmission completes the process of changing the transmission ratio called shifting. The gear shift is a gear shift that realizes the transmission ratio change by being integrated with the gear, and the gear ring at the tooth side engages (or separates) with the gear sleeve. Synchronizer shift. Use synchronizer shift. The shift not only has no impact and noise on the joint teeth, but also the shift time is short.
(9) Jump gear. Due to the wear and vibration of the coupling gear in the car, the coupling sleeve and the coupling gear ring are separated and the transmission is in neutral state.
