Characteristics:

Hydrophobic fumed silica is created by treating the fumed silica particles with various hydrophobic materials, such as silanes 

or polymers. This treatment modifies the surface of the silica particles, making them repel water and other polar liquids. As a 

result, hydrophobic fumed silica is not easily wetted by water and tends to form aggregates or clumps when exposed to liquid.
