An electromagnetic flow meter is an instrument used to measure the flow of liquids, which is based on Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction and the Lorentz force principle.  The instrument consists of two parts: electromagnetic flow sensor and display controller.  

Electromagnetic flow sensors usually consist of an electromagnetic coil and a measuring electrode.  When the liquid passes through the sensor, the electromagnetic coil creates a strong magnetic field, and the conductive substance in the liquid (such as water or solution) creates an induced electromotive force.  By measuring the electrode, the velocity and flow rate of the liquid can be obtained.
