Two-way hydraulic lock is a safety device, which plays a vital role in the Hydraulic Power Unit, mainly used to prevent the hydraulic cylinder in the hydraulic system from accidental action when it stops working. It is usually composed of a hydraulic locking valve and a hydraulic unlocking valve.

When the hydraulic system needs to stop working, the hydraulic locking valve shuts down the flow of the hydraulic system and holds the hydraulic cylinder in its current position to prevent its accidental movement. The hydraulic locking valve usually consists of a locking piston and a locking spring. When the hydraulic locking valve is closed, the locking piston will stop the hydraulic oil flow and hold the hydraulic cylinder in place.

When the hydraulic system needs to be restarted, the hydraulic release valve opens the flow of the hydraulic system, releasing the hydraulic oil in the hydraulic lock valve, so that the hydraulic cylinder can move freely. The hydraulic release valve usually consists of an release piston and an release spring. When the hydraulic release valve is opened, the release piston will allow the hydraulic oil to flow, releasing the hydraulic oil in the hydraulic lock valve.

The two-way hydraulic lock can prevent the hydraulic cylinder in the hydraulic system from moving accidentally when it stops working, and improve work safety. It is usually used in hydraulic systems that need to fix the position of hydraulic cylinders, such as cranes, excavators and so on.
