Since all intermolecular collisions take place in the fiber, there is no need for laser gas, so the energy required is greatly reduced - about one third of the CO2 laser. The smaller the heat generated, the smaller the volume of the cooler. In a word, the overall energy consumption of fiber laser is 70% lower than that of CO2 laser when the same performance is achieved.
