Polyester yarn is a kind of synthetic fiber, which has the advantages of abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance, antibacterial, etc., and is often used in carpet manufacturing.

Thread number refers to the number of yarns per unit length, generally represented by "s". 5s/2 means that there are 5 yarn per meter length, and each yarn is composed of 2 strands of yarn; 5s/3 means that there are 5 yarn per meter length, and each yarn is composed of 3 strands.

The advantages of polyester carpet

High strength: Due to its low hygroscopic property, its wet strength is basically the same as the dry strength. The impact strength is 4 times higher than polyamide and 20 times higher than viscose fiber. So polyester fabric is strong and durable.

Good elasticity: the elasticity is close to wool, and when it is extended by 5% to 6%, it can almost be completely restored. So its elasticity is worse than acrylic carpet. Crease resistance is more than other fibers, that is, the fabric does not wrinkle, is not easy to deform, and has good dimensional stability.

Heat resistance: Polyester is made by melt spinning process, can be used at 70-170 ° C, is the best heat resistance and thermal stability of synthetic fibers.

Good wear resistance: the wear resistance is second only to the best wear resistance of nylon, better than other natural fibers and synthetic fibers.

Good light resistance: light resistance is second only to acrylic fiber. Polyester fabric has better light resistance, in addition to worse than acrylic fiber, its sun resistance is better than natural fiber fabric. Especially in the glass behind the sun resistance is very good, almost equal to acrylic fiber.
