Hydraulic system is a kind of system that utilizes fluid as the working medium to drive the hydraulic actuator through the pressure energy of the fluid and control valves and other components.

A complete hydraulic system usually consists of five parts: power components, hydraulic actuators, control components, detection and auxiliary components, and hydraulic fluid.

The working principle of a hydraulic system is roughly as follows: A hydraulic pump draws fluid from the reservoir through mechanical force and compresses it using pressure-generating devices (such as gears, pistons, etc.) to push the fluid into the hydraulic system. Hydraulic valves control the flow direction and pressure of the fluid, hydraulic cylinders convert the fluid pressure into linear motion force, and hydraulic motors convert the fluid pressure into rotational motion force.

Hydraulic systems have extensive applications in industries such as defense, machine tool, metallurgy, automotive, textile, shipbuilding, and more.

The advantages of hydraulic systems include strong adaptability, simple structure, low wear, compact structure, small size, good economy, and safety. However, although their efficiency is higher than electrical systems, it is still lower than mechanical systems.
