Description:
Polyvinyl alcohol is obtained by hydrolysis of polyvinyl acetate, but not directly by polymerization of vinyl alcohol, because vinyl alcohol is extremely unstable and it is impossible for free vinyl alcohol monomer to exist.
PVA-1788 has good water solubility and can be quickly dissolved in cold water or hot water. PVA-1799 is only soluble in hot water above 95°C. Since polyvinyl alcohol is basically neutral, no special corrosion protection requirements are required when dissolving it, but it is best to use a stainless steel reactor or enamel reactor, because these materials will not cause the solution to be contaminated by rust.
