    A pilot operated pressure reducing valve consists of a main valve and a pilot valve. The pilot valve senses changes in outlet pressure and controls the opening degree of the main valve through hydraulic control to achieve more precise pressure regulation. This type of pressure reducing valve is suitable for situations that require frequent adjustment or have complex pressure requirements.


Working principle
A pilot operated pressure reducing valve is mainly composed of a valve body, a main spring, a main valve core, a main valve seat, a piston, a pilot spring, a pilot valve core, a pilot valve seat, a pilot piston, and an adjusting spring. By adjusting the screw to compress and adjust the spring, the pilot valve core is pushed open, and the medium enters above the piston from the inlet side. Due to the piston area being larger than the main valve core area, the piston is pushed downwards, causing the main valve to open. The pressure of the regulating spring after the valve is balanced to change the opening of the pilot valve, thereby changing the pressure above the piston and controlling the opening of the main valve core to maintain a constant pressure behind the valve.


Application
    Pilot operated pressure reducing valves are widely used in high-rise buildings, urban water supply networks, mines, and gas pipelines. They are in the same system, especially when it is necessary to supply oil to different actuators, and the required working pressure of each actuator is not the same, pressure control of a specific circuit can be achieved by connecting pressure reducing valves in series. In addition, the pilot operated pressure reducing valve can also achieve remote control of the outlet pressure through a remote pressure regulating valve


Compared to other valve, such as direct acting pressure reducing valve, ball valve, butterfly valve,gate valve, etc., have different working principles and application scenarios. The structure of a direct acting pressure reducing valve is relatively simple, which opens or closes the valve by directly adjusting the balance force between the spring and the secondary pressure, and is suitable for low-pressure control. Ball valves and butterfly valves are mainly used to regulate the flow direction and flow rate of fluids, and their design usually focuses on fast switching and good sealing performance.
