PVC LMA is a type of anesthesia consumables widely used in the hospitals and clinics, due to its low price and good quality. PVC itself is a little bit rigid and cause the trauma to the throat mucosa during the intubation of the laryngeal mask. Silicone laryngeal mask airway are much softer than the PVC and at the same time it causes almost no trauma to the mucosa because of its superior biocompatibility, which also cause less allergic reaction during the intubation period. The only disadvantage is the price is much higher than the PVC LMA.
