Flange turbine butterfly valve, also known as the flange worm gear butterfly valve, is a structurally simple valve mainly used for on/off control of pipelines, especially performing well in the on/off control of low-pressure pipeline media. It is mainly composed of valve body, valve plate, valve stem, sealing ring, etc. made of ductile iron or stainless steel structure, and has the characteristics of small volume, light weight, and easy operation. Flange turbine butterfly valves are usually used in environments with temperatures not exceeding 120 ℃ and nominal pressures not exceeding 1.6MPa. They are suitable for water supply and drainage, gas pipelines in multiple industries such as food, medicine, chemical, petroleum, and power, and are used to regulate flow and cut off media.
Installation steps
The installation of flange turbine butterfly valves requires special attention to the following points: firstly, at least 10 times the diameter of the pipeline should be left on both sides of the pipeline for future maintenance and disassembly; Secondly, the installation of cast iron butterfly valve should follow the normal flow direction of the fluid and mark the fluid flow direction on the valve body; Again, the installation position of the butterfly valve should be horizontal or tilted no more than 5 degrees to avoid affecting the sealing and opening/closing of the butterfly valve; In addition, during the installation process, it is necessary to ensure that the butterfly valve flange and the pipeline flange are parallel and correspond one-to-one, and then tighten them with bolts to ensure a firm installation; Finally, appropriate clamp and bolt specifications should be selected based on the type, diameter, medium, etc. of the butterfly valve, and relevant pre tightening force checks should be conducted to ensure that the butterfly valve is installed in the correct position and avoid leakage or damage.
Comparison with check valves
Check valves are mainly used to prevent medium backflow and protect the safety of pipeline systems. Compared with check valve, butterfly valve may have slightly inferior performance in preventing medium backflow, but their simple structure and convenient operation make them widely used in preventing fluid backflow.
The flange turbine butterfly valve has unique advantages in structural design, sealing performance, and ease of operation. When choosing a valve, it is necessary to determine which valve to use based on specific application requirements, working conditions, and budget.
