The opening and closing components of stainless steel flange globe valve is plug shaped valve discs, with a flat or conical sealing surface. The valve disc moves linearly along the centerline of the valve seat. The movement form of the valve stem, (common name: concealed stem), also has a lifting and rotating stem type, (common name: rising stem) globe valve refers to a valve in which the closing element (valve disc) moves along the centerline of the valve seat.

working principle

Globe valve, also known as shut-off valve, stop valve, is the most widely used type of valve. Its popularity is due to the low friction between the sealing surfaces during the opening and closing process, its durability, small opening height, easy manufacturing, and convenient maintenance. It is not only suitable for medium and low pressure, but also for high pressure. The closing principle of a stainless steel structure globe valve is to rely on the pressure of the valve stem to tightly adhere the sealing surface of the valve disc to the sealing surface of the valve seat, preventing the flow of the medium. The shut-off valve only allows one-way flow of the medium and has directionality during installation. The structural length of the globe valve is greater than that of the gate valve, and the fluid resistance is high. During long-term operation, the sealing reliability is not strong.

Comparison with other valves

Compared with butterfly valve, stainless steel flange globe valves have better sealing performance and can effectively prevent medium leakage.

Compared with ball valves, the structure is simpler and more compact, and installation and maintenance are more convenient.

Compared to gate valves, it is more flexible to operate and easier to switch.

Application

Stainless steel flange globe valves are suitable for pipelines with various corrosive media, and have good corrosion resistance and sufficient strength. Alloy steel globe valves are suitable for high-temperature resistant steam and oil pipelines and have high temperature resistance characteristics. Stainless steel flange globe valves are mainly used in industries such as petrochemicals, chemicals, power, metallurgy, pharmaceuticals, and food.
