working principle

The working principle of the fire groove type floating ball valve is to control the opening and closing of the valve by moving the floating ball up and down with the water level. When the water level rises to the set height, the float rises and pushes the valve stem, causing the valve to close and preventing further water from flowing in; When the water level drops, the float descends and the valve opens again, allowing water to enter the water tank.

Installation method

When installing a fire groove type floating ball valve, the first step is to choose a suitable installation location, usually at the inlet and outlet of the water tank. Before installation, clean the pipeline thoroughly, then place the valve in the center of the pipeline and secure it with a wrench. Next, hang the float to ensure that it can float freely in the water. Finally, adjust the height of the valve to ensure that it can automatically close at the set water level.

In fire protection systems, gate valves are typically used to cut off or connect the flow of media in pipelines, while float ball valves are used to control water levels. The two can be used together, for example, butterfly valve with self-locking devices can be used on the suction pipe of fire pumps, while check valve and rising stem gate valve should be installed on the outlet pipe. This combination ensures that the water flow can be quickly cut off in emergency situations, and the water level can be adjusted through a float valve in daily use to maintain system stability.
