Phytic acid is an important organic phosphorus additive with strong chelating characteristics, widely used in food additives and other applications. It can chelate most metal ions that play catalytic roles in the oxidation process, making it an effective natural antioxidant, preservative, nutrition enhancer, water-softening agent, fermentation accelerator, and metal anti-rusting agent.

Phytic acid is naturally found in the shells of high-fiber foods such as seeds, grains, and nuts. At present, natural phytic acid mainly comes from corn, with a smaller amount derived from rice bran. Our phytic acid, sourced from corn, is backed by a stable supply of sufficient raw materials, ensuring consistent quality and availability.

Appearance: light yellow or light brown viscous liquid.

Solubility: phytic acid is soluble in water, 95% ethanol, glycerin and acetone, soluble in ethanol-ether aqueous solution, slightly soluble in anhydrous ethanol and methanol, insoluble in organic solvents such as benzene, chloroform and anhydrous ether.

[Function & application]

i. food industry:

1. Phytic acid, as a green natural non-toxic preservative and antiseptic, has a good fresh-keeping effect.

2. Phytic acid has excellent antioxidant properties, which can improve the storage time of noodle food and edible oil.

3. Phytic acid can be added into drinks to quench thirst quickly and improve taste. On the other hand, excessive metal ions can be removed, especially heavy metals harmful to human body.

4. As fresh-keeping agent and bacteriostatic agent for aquatic products and meat products.

5. Used as a stabilizer in wine making industry, chelate multi-valent iron ions to remove excessive iron ions in liquor or alcoholic drinks.

6. Used for biological fermentation promoters, metal ion chelating agents, canned food stabilizer, etc.

Mainly used in toothpaste, cosmetics, bath gel and other products, with whitening, moisturizing, exfoliating effect.
