Product Description
The solid product is white granular or lumpy, white glossy crystals. It is stable in air. 86.5°C loses part of the crystalline water, 250°C loses all the crystalline water. Easily soluble in water, almost insoluble in ethanol, the solution is acidic. Iron-free aluminium sulphate is a widely used industrial reagent, often confused with alum (both potassium aluminium sulphate dodecahydrate). Aluminium sulphate is commonly used as a flocculant in purified drinking water and wastewater treatment plants, as well as in the paper industry.
