The mud valve is an important equipment in oil wellhead drilling, used to control the flow and pressure of mud. Its workflow process is as follows:

•Before starting drilling operations, a mud valve needs to be installed in the mud circulation system at the drilling wellhead. Mud valves are usually installed next to the drill pipe at the drilling wellhead to control the flow of mud.

•When the drill pipe is lowered into the wellhead, the mud valve first needs to be opened. After the mud valve is opened, the mud can enter the drill pipe from the wellhead and then be pumped underground through the mud pump.

•The mud valve can control the flow of mud by adjusting the opening of the valve. When the mud flow needs to be increased, the valve can be opened appropriately; when the mud flow needs to be reduced, the valve can be closed appropriately.

•The mud valve can also control the pressure of the mud by adjusting the opening of the valve. When the mud pressure needs to be increased, the valve can be closed appropriately; when the mud pressure needs to be reduced, the valve can be opened appropriately.

•When the drilling operation is completed or the mud circulation needs to be stopped, the mud valve needs to be closed. After closing the mud valve, the mud flow will stop and the drill pipe can be lifted out of the wellhead.
