Introduction to Cummins X15 Engine

The Cummins X15 engine is a heavy-duty diesel engine designed for the heavy-duty on-highway market. It is part of Cummins' HELM™ 15-liter fuel agnostic platform, which is compliant with U.S. EPA and CARB 2027 aligned regulations at launch. The X15 engine is known for its reliability, lower operating costs, and improved greenhouse gas and fuel efficiency benefits. It retains the same ratings of the current X15 (up to 605 horsepower and 2,050 ft-lb of torque) and optimizes powertrain integration with Eaton Cummins and Cummins-Meritor.

The X15 engine is equipped with a Cummins XPI Fuel System, which is a high-pressure common rail system that enables multiple injection events per cycle for industry-leading fuel economy and quieter operation. It also features a Single Module™ aftertreatment system that is compact, lightweight, and fully serviceable, offering increased ash capacity and extended maintenance intervals.
