Properties:
PVC is a white powder with an amorphous structure with a small degree of branching. The glass transition temperature is 77~90°C, and it begins to decompose at about 170°C. It has poor stability to light and heat. It decomposes to generate hydrogen chloride, and further autocatalytic decomposition, causing discoloration and rapid decline in physical and mechanical properties. In practical applications, stabilizers must be added to improve the stability to heat and light.

PVC is prepared by free radical addition polymerization. The polymerization methods are mainly divided into suspension polymerization, emulsion polymerization and bulk polymerization. Suspension polymerization is the main method, accounting for about 80% of the total output of PVC. Add pure water, liquefied VCM monomer and dispersant into the reaction kettle, then add initiator and other auxiliary agents, and after the temperature is raised to a certain temperature, the VCM monomer undergoes free radical polymerization to form PVC particles. Continued stirring uniformizes the particle size and suspends the resulting particles in the water. In addition, there is also the use of micro-suspension method to produce PVC paste resin, which has good product performance and paste-forming properties.
