Working principle
Hydraulic drive: Relying on the hydraulic system to provide power, the hydraulic pressure drives the piston to move, and then drives the ram to open and close. When the blowout preventer needs to be closed, the hydraulic oil enters the cylinder, pushing the piston forward, causing the gate to move toward the center of the wellhead and close, achieving the purpose of sealing the wellhead; when the blowout preventer needs to be opened, the hydraulic oil flows in the opposite direction, the piston drives the gate back to its original position, and the wellhead is restored to unobstructed.
Double sealing mechanism: There are special sealing devices between the gate and the drill pipe or wellhead, and between the gate and the blowout preventer housing. When the gate is closed, these sealing devices can effectively prevent the leakage of fluid in the well, ensuring good sealing performance even under high pressure. In addition, some 2FZ double gate blowout preventers are also equipped with secondary sealing devices as an emergency sealing means, which can provide additional sealing protection when the main seal has problems.
