The NEDC efficiency is the overall energy ratio between the input and output of the transmission under NEDC operating conditions of an electric vehicle.
The NEDC efficiency is the total energy ratio between input and output of the transmission under NEDC conditions. Pure electric vehicles are usually evaluated for energy saving under isochronous or NEDC cycle conditions, while the NEDC efficiency of the transmission can directly reflect the economic indicators of electric vehicles, so the efficiency of the transmission will also be one of the important indicators studied during the transmission development process.
Macro parameters of gears, such as index circle diameter d, gear module z, gear ratio i, tooth width b, displacement ratio x, as well as gear speed n and the type of bearing used, will have some influence on the efficiency of gears.
(1) In the case of transmitting small torque with gears, the meshing power loss between gears is dominated by rolling friction loss, supplemented by sliding friction loss, in which rolling friction loss increases with the increase of gear diameter, and the rolling friction loss between gears increases with the gradual increase of gear transmission load. Under the condition of transmitting the same torque, the gear with relatively larger diameter bears relatively smaller load, so the sliding friction loss is relatively smaller than the gear with smaller diameter. Therefore, in the case of large load, the gear diameter circle indexed to a larger diameter than the small diameter indexed to a larger diameter can improve transmission efficiency.
(2) the contact line between a pair of gears will also affect the efficiency of the gear, in the case of the same gear diameter, the modulus of the large gear than the modulus of the small gear contact line is longer, the resulting sliding loss also by the modulus of small becomes large, making its meshing efficiency relatively lower.
(3) If the gear diameter to maintain a certain, the transmission ratio is large, the diameter of the large gear is large, in the case of low torque on the rolling friction loss is large, the transmission ratio efficiency is low. In the case of large sliding friction loss load, the diameter of the large gear is easier to form a dynamic oil film than the small gear, the dynamic oil film will reduce the sliding friction coefficient between the gears, thus reducing the sliding friction loss between the gears and improve the gear meshing efficiency.
