In the distribution system, the Ring Cabinet (RMU) is a factory assembled metal enclosed switchgear group located at the load connection point of the ring distribution network. It contains different types of switches for different purposes, such as connecting some switches to loads, and supplying power to distribution transformers. This type of switchgear is used for medium voltage distribution. RMU is a scalable and non scalable ring host used for secondary distribution networks. RMU can provide various configurations suitable for most switch applications in 24 kV distribution networks. RMU is a fully enclosed system with a stainless steel tank, airtight metal casing, containing all live parts, isolation switches, grounding switches, fuse switches, and circuit breakers.
