The TS-400 welding drum packing machine is mainly used for drum loading and winding of CO2 gas shielded welding wires. The drum packing machine adopts Siemens S7-200 PLC full digital control, human-machine interface interactive information, and has the functions of operation and maintenance assistance, weight, disordered wire, broken wire, pay off completion alarm, automatic shutdown, fault online detection, etc. It can realize full automatic operation in addition to threading, straightening, taking and placing barrels. Accurate petal control and pre twisting treatment ensure smooth wire feeding during the welding process. The pay-off machine adopts variable frequency speed control for active pay-off, the drum motor adopts variable frequency drive, and the flywheel adopts high-power variable frequency to follow the drum operation, effectively ensuring the constant tension and stable operation during the welding wire winding process.

Due to the fact that the stability of the system largely depends on the role of PID, it is necessary to comprehensively consider the setting of its parameters, including low speed, high speed, rising speed, and falling speed. In addition, differential restriction needs to be involved in this system. After optimizing the parameter values of this system, the speed of 600 m/min during equipment debugging was very stable, completely solving the problem of instability of the original synchronous board at high speeds (only able to drive up to 300 m/min). The wire drawing machine equipment has been tested under various working conditions, and its performance is the same as that of imported DC drives. The equipment efficiency is 90-95%, and the power saving rate is about 40%.
