In hydraulic systems, hydraulic fluid should have the following requirements:
1. Good lubricity
The working medium lubricates the various moving components in the hydraulic system to reduce friction and reduce friction, ensuring that the system can work normally for a long time. The hydraulic working medium is required to have good lubricity.
2. The viscosity is appropriate and changes little with temperature
If the viscosity of the working medium is too high, the pressure loss of the system will be large, the efficiency will decrease, and the oil suction condition of the pump will deteriorate, which can easily cause cavitation and cavitation, making it difficult for the pump to operate.
If the viscosity of the working medium is too low, the system will leak too much, increase volume loss, lower system efficiency, and worsen the rigidity of the system. In addition, seasonal changes, as well as changes in the temperature of the working medium before and after starting and during normal operation of the machine, require that the viscosity of the working medium vary less with temperature in order to ensure the normal and stable operation of the hydraulic system.
3. Good shear stability
The working medium undergoes severe shear when passing through pumps, valves, and microporous components. This mechanical action can cause two forms of viscosity changes in the medium, namely temporary viscosity loss at high shear rates and permanent viscosity decrease caused by the increase in polymerization and the destruction of adhesive molecules. This situation is particularly severe at high speeds and pressures. After the viscosity is reduced to a certain extent, it cannot be used anymore, therefore, it is required that the working medium has good shear stability.
4. Oxygen resistance
Contact between the working medium and air can cause sensitization and deterioration. High temperature, high pressure, and certain substances such as copper, zinc, aluminum, etc. can accelerate the softening process. After softening, the acidity of the medium increases, the corrosiveness increases, and the viscous substances generated by oxidation can clog the pores and gaps of the components, affecting the normal operation of the system. Therefore, it is required that the working medium has good resistance to oxidation.
5. Good lubricity
