 The thread protector is a manually-operated device designed to safeguard the external pin-end threads on casing. It is characterized by its simplicity, durability, and reliability. The fast and easy operation of the thread protector not only saves casing screw time but also reduces rig time, resulting in cost savings.

Constructed from a high-strength spring-steel band encased in durable, abrasion-resistant rubber, the thread protector features an adjustable cam-type latch assembly for manual locking and unlocking. Operating the thread protector is straightforward: place the protector on the pin-end threads of the pipe, push the handle firmly toward the center of the pipe to securely close the locking action in place, and pull the handle out to release it.
