The cementing plug serves to isolate the cement slurry from the mud, effectively preventing the blending of mud into the cement slurry and thus safeguarding the quality of the cementing process.
Structure:
There are two main types of cementing plugs: conventional cementing plugs and special cementing plugs.
Conventional cementing plugs consist of top plugs and bottom plugs. Special plugs include top, middle, and bottom plugs used in two-stage cementing, drill pipe plugs and hollow plugs used in drilling liner cementing, and composite plugs used in composite casing applications.
