DCPD is mainly used to produce unsaturated resins and DCPD petroleum resins, of which DCPD petroleum resins have defects such as odorous taste, dark colour, poor stability, low oxidative stability, etc., which are difficult to be compatible with other resin matrices, and the demand for their use as viscosity enhancers is low. With the continuous improvement of modern technology, the current major enterprises mainly improve DCPD petroleum resin by hydrogenation, so as to enhance the performance of DCPD petroleum resin.
DCPD petroleum resin after hydrogenation, the colour phase becomes lighter, the degree of unsaturation is reduced, and there is no special smell, and SBS, EVA, etc. have better compatibility, can be used in the ink, tackifier, rubber, pressure-sensitive adhesive and other fields, in addition to food packaging, sanitary napkins, disposable paper nappies and other products can be used in the special adhesive.
DCPD Petroleum Resins are low molecular weight petroleum resins that are light yellow or white thermoplastic resins. It is produced by polymerisation of dicyclopentadiene. Non-hydrogenated light coloured DCPD petroleum resins are used in high active good quality rubbers with good compatibility. Good compatibility with ester and polyurethane solvents. In ester solvents, it has good compatibility with epoxy resins and good curing speed. It can be used as a modifier to reduce the polymerisation of epoxy resins and improve the adhesion of coatings as well as the shrinkage of cement and steel. In addition, it enhances the wetting properties of the coating and improves the levelling of the paint film. High softening point and good compatibility, if it is added in the ink, it will produce a colour development effect, fast drying, thickening, and also improve the printing performance. Hydrogenated DCPD petroleum resin, good thermal stability, light colour, generally used for plastic modification, high-grade paint ink.
Recommended application areas1.Rubber industry. Butyl rubber damping plates, radial tyres, bias tyres, inner tubes and other synthetic rubber.
2.Paint industry. Marine paint, varnish, alkyd, epoxy, polyester paint, gold powder paint, silver powder paint, adhesive, electrical engineering and other related industries.
3.Ink industry. Gravure ink, letterpress ink and other high-end ink.
4.Plastic industry. Do modified plastic products, and epoxy resin with curing modifier.
