EN24 EN24t round bar equivalent material

EN24 is a very high strength alloy steel, hardened and tempered. High tensile steel strength with good ductility and wear properties. EN24 has relatively good impact properties at low temperatures and is also suitable for a variety of high temperature applications. It is similar to SCM439 steel round bar, EN24 steel round bar in EU standard and 4340 steel round bar in US standard.

EN24 engineering steel is easily treat and tempered, and hardening and tempering are available. This alloy provides a good combination of strength, ductility and wear resistance. It is a very strong alloy engineering steel.

EN24 is normally supplied in T condition with a tensile strength of 850/1000 N/mm 2 .

EN24T steel is a popular solid hardened alloy steel due to its excellent machinability in the "T" temper. EN24T is used for components such as gears, shafts, studs and bolts and has a hardness in the 248/302 HB range. EN24T can be further case hardened by induction or nitriding to create parts with enhanced wear resistance.

EN24 steel, because of its good properties, can be used in: high-strength shafts, punches and dies, drill bushes, retaining rings, gears, etc.

EN24T steel is a high strength alloy steel known for its wear resistance and properties requiring high strength. EN24T is used for components subject to high stress and large cross sections. This can include aircraft, automotive and general engineering applications such as propeller or gear shafts, connecting rods, aircraft landing gear components.
