PPR pipe, also known as Type III polypropylene ppr pipe, is made of randomly copolymerized polypropylene extruded into pipes and injection molded into fittings. It is a new type of plastic pipe product developed and applied in Europe in the early 1990s. PP-R was a new generation of pipeline material in the late 1980s, which used gas-phase copolymerization technology to randomly and uniformly polymerize about 5% PE in the molecular chain of PP (random copolymerization). It has good impact resistance and long-term creep performance.
PPR pipes are mainly divided into PPR cold water pipes and PPR pipe for hot water. The interface adopts hot melt technology, and the pipes are completely integrated together. Therefore, once installed and tested, there will be no more water leakage, and the reliability is extremely high.
The difference between PPR water pipe and PVC water pipe
Firstly, the raw materials used in the production of PPR pipes and PVC pipes are different. PPR pipes are produced from copolymerized polypropylene materials, while PVC pipes are produced from polyvinyl chloride materials. The different production materials result in varying properties.
Secondly, due to different production materials, PPR pipes and PVC pipes have different colors. PPR pipes made of polypropylene material have a bright appearance and better toughness. Other colored pipes can be produced according to the addition of different colorants; PVC pipes are mostly milky white in color, with a glossy surface, but without a cross-section, and the material is relatively fragile.
Thirdly, production costs vary. Due to material and wall thickness reasons, there are differences in production costs and prices between PPR pipe and PVC pipe. Generally speaking, the price of PPR pipes is relatively high.
Fourthly, the purposes are different. Due to material reasons, PVC pipes are not as hygienic and safe as PPR pipes. Generally, Yajie PPR pipes are used as water supply pipes in home decoration, which can be used for hot and cold water pipes. PVC pipes are often used as drainage pipes and can only be used for cold water pipes.
