During the starting phase, the capacitor is connected in parallel with the windings of the motor. This creates a higher voltage across the motor, resulting in a stronger magnetic field that attracts the rotor and initiates rotation. Once the motor starts spinning, the centrifugal switch inside disconnects the capacitor from the circuit. After the motor has started, the capacitor is disconnected or bypassed, and the motor runs solely on its internal winding. The capacitor's role is minimal during this stage, although it can still help maintain stability by smoothing out any fluctuations in voltage. In some cases, a motor capacitor can also improve energy efficiency by reducing the current draw and the heating effect on the motor, which can lead to longer lifespan and lower operating costs.
