Powder coating spraying process Powder coating spraying processThe main steps of the powder coating spraying process typically involve pre-treating the workpiece before proceeding with the spraying and curing processes. There are two conventional methods for powder coating application: electrostatic spraying and fluidized bed coating. Electrostatic Spraying Process: Powder coating is applied to the workpiece surface through a spray gun. The nozzle of the spray gun forms a charged electrode due to the input of high voltage direct current, causing the powder to become electrostatically charged and adhere to the workpiece surface. Fluidized Bed Coating Process: This is a simple dip coating process, which can be conducted by either the conventional method or the electrostatic method. In the conventional fluidized bed coating process, the fluidized bed is a tank with a perforated bottom plate. Low-pressure air continuously flows beneath the porous plate, uniformly passing through it. The rising air surrounds the powder particles and suspends them in the airflow, creating a powder-air mixture. Workpieces preheated to above the melting temperature of the powder are dipped into the fluidized bed, where the powder melts and forms a continuous coating. After spraying, the workpieces are heated in a curing oven to melt the powder and level it out, ultimately resulting in a hardened coating.
