Oxidation Treatment Stained Magnesium Alloy Part
Oxidation dyeing treatment is a process to improve the surface performance of magnesium alloy parts, it is mainly through the chemical reaction on the metal surface to form a layer of dense oxide film, thus enhancing the corrosion resistance, wear resistance and aesthetics of the parts. The following are the basic steps of magnesium alloy parts oxidation dyeing treatment:
1. Cleaning and pre-treatment
- Cleaning: Remove oil, grease and other contaminants from the surface of the part using a suitable solvent or cleaning agent.
- Pre-treatment: This may include rust removal, descaling, etc. to ensure that the surface is clean and free of contaminants for the subsequent oxidation process.
2. Chemical oxidation (anodising)
- Solution Selection: Select the appropriate oxidising solution according to the performance and appearance effects to be achieved. Oxidation solutions commonly used for magnesium alloys usually contain sulfuric acid, fluoride and other components.
- Oxidation process: the pre-treated parts into the oxidation solution, electrolysis under specific temperature and voltage conditions, so that the metal surface oxidation reaction to generate an oxide film.
- Time control: oxidation time should be precisely controlled according to the thickness of the required oxide layer, too short a time to thin the oxide layer, too long a time may affect the surface quality and performance.
3. Colouring
- Pre-treatment of dyeing: clean the oxidised parts, remove the residual oxidation solution and impurities on the surface.
-Dyeing: Immerse the parts into the dyeing solution, through chemical reaction or physical adsorption, let the colour molecules penetrate into the oxide film to form a coloured oxide film. There are various types and formulations of dyeing solutions to produce different colour effects.
4. Post-treatment
- Cleaning: Wash the parts again to remove excess colouring solution and residual substances.
- Drying: Place the part in a dry environment and allow it to dry naturally or accelerate the drying process by applying heat.
- Sealing: It may be necessary to seal the oxide film to further improve corrosion protection.
Caution:
- Safety regulations need to be strictly observed during operation, wear appropriate protective equipment and avoid contact with skin and eyes.
- The choice of solution and operating conditions need to be adjusted according to specific materials and requirements to ensure the best results and quality.
Oxidation dyeing treatment is one of the effective methods to improve the performance of magnesium alloy parts, but its process is complicated and requires fine operation and strict parameter control. It is recommended to carry out such treatment under the guidance of professional technicians. In addition to Magnesium Alloy Part, Magnesium Alloy Plate, Magnesium Alloy Vibrating Platforms and other magnesium alloy products can be oxidation dye treatment.
