Compared with other magnesium alloys, ZK61M magnesium alloy has the following advantages in aerospace applications:
1. High strength: ZK61M magnesium alloy has a tensile strength of 310-360MPa and a yield strength of 200-260MPa at room temperature, which is suitable for aerospace key components and can be used to realise lightweight design under the premise of ensuring structural strength.
2. Good high-temperature performance: ZK61M magnesium alloy maintains high strength and performance in high-temperature environments of 150-200°C. It can be used for high-temperature components of aerospace engines and for aircraft structures that face high-temperature environments during high-speed flight.
3. Corrosion resistance: The addition of zirconium gives ZK61M magnesium alloy excellent corrosion resistance in environments with high atmospheric and humidity levels. In aerospace equipment environments, ZK61M magnesium alloy effectively resists corrosion caused by humidity, salt spray, and other factors, which reduces maintenance costs and prolongs the service life of components.
