Power Line Common Mode Chokes

Common-mode inductors, also known as differential-mode inductors, are an inductor component that is mainly used to suppress common-mode interference signals in circuits. In circuits, signals with common-mode amplitudes greater than differential-mode amplitudes often cause electromagnetic interference.

Common-mode inductors can generally suppress common-mode noise currents at a lower level through special structures and electromagnetic designs.

The differential-mode signal is the difference between two input signals in a circuit, while the common-mode signal is the sum of the two input signals. Under the input of the differential signal, the two signals change at the same time, but the changes are equal in magnitude and opposite in direction. Under the input of the common-mode signal, the two signals change at the same time, with equal changes in magnitude and the same direction. The main function of the common-mode inductor is to counteract the common-mode signal.
