granules or powder. The density is 1.05~1.18g/cm3, the shrinkage rate is 0.4%~0.9%, the 

elastic modulus is 2Gpa, the Poisson's ratio is 0.394, the hygroscopicity is less than 1%, the 

melting temperature is 217~237℃, and the thermal decomposition temperature is >250 °C.

Usually, the plastic materials are formed in the shape of pellets or granules and sent 

from the raw material manufacturers in paper bags. With injection moulding, pre-dried 

granular plastic is fed by a forced ram from a hopper into a heated barrel. As the 

granules are slowly moved forward by a screw-type plunger, the plastic is forced into a 

heated chamber, where it is melted. As the plunger advances, the melted plastic is 

forced through a nozzle that rests against the mould, allowing it to enter the mould 

cavity through a gate and runner system. The mould remains cold so the plastic solidifies 

almost as soon as the mould is filled.

ABS plastic has good comprehensive performance, high impact strength, chemical stability and 

good electrical properties; good fusion with 372 plexiglass, made into two-color plastic parts, 

and can be chrome-plated and painted on the surface; high impact resistance, high resistance 

Thermal, flame retardant, reinforced, transparent and other grades. The fluidity is a little worse 

than HIPS, better than PMMA, PC, etc., and the flexibility is good; suitable for making general 

mechanical parts, wear-reducing and wear-resistant parts, transmission parts and 

telecommunication parts.
