Switchable Glass(SG) consists of float glass, EVA, and Yuguang Smart Film(STF) that form a kind of laminated glass. The scientific principles lie in the STF, when it is powered off, the liquid crystal molecules fall into a random state,that diffuse light passing through the sandwich structure and to provide instant privacy. When it is powered on, the voltage drive the liquid crystal molecules align along the direction perpendicular to the film, then visible light go through STF and turns transparent.
Switchable Film (SF)
STF is a sort of light modulating material comprised of polymer dispersed liquid crystal and flexible ITO film. When it is powered off, visible light scatters through the STF and the film turns opaque. When it is powered on, visible light transmits the STF and the film turns transparent. STF can be used in SA-STF or STG.
STG consists of toughened glass, EVA, and STF that form a kind of laminated glass.
