⛆ Operating Principles of Tubular Air Preheater

As the shell side fluid changes direction constantly while flowing through the twisted tubes, its flowing cross section area for heating remains the same. Moreover, low resistance of the shell side fluid could be expected because of the friction current between the tube and shell side fluid.

Fluid is evenly distributed around the twisted tubes of Twisted Tape Heat Exchanger. There is no flowing dead zone, and it is less likely to have swirls or scales caused by overheating with an effective heating area of 98%.

Unlike Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger, inside the shell, we have no baffle in Twisted Tube Exchanger as all twisted tubes were strapped independently from the shell. The smart arrangement avoids the circumstance where the heating tubes would be wore out because of long time abrasion with the baffles.
