What is a plate and frame filter press?

The plate and frame filter press is a kind of solid-liquid separation machine known first, and it is a sludge dewatering machine with intermittent operation. Its filter chamber is composed of a plate and a frame. After the material enters the filter press, the liquid flows out from the filter cloth under pressure, and the solid part remains in the filter chamber and is squeezed and accumulated to form a filter cake with a certain moisture content. Users can adjust the working hours of the filter press according to their own needs to control the moisture content of the filter mud. If the filter mud needs to be slightly dry, the working hours of the filter press can be extended appropriately. The plate and frame filter press is more designed as a filter press for manual cake unloading. After the filter press finishes working, it is necessary to manually pull the plate and frame apart one by one to let the filter mud unload. If you want the mud cake to fall off automatically, you can choose a box filter press with a trolley, which can be customized by the user. The plate and frame filter press has the advantages of large filtration driving force, high solid content of filter cake, clear filtrate, high solid recovery rate, and low consumption of conditioning chemicals. It is often used in small sewage plants.
