Reducing leakage is very important for switching transformers - voltage spikes caused by switching transformer leakage energy storage are one of the reasons for power switch tube damage. The size of the voltage peak when the power switching tube is turned off is related to the configuration of the collector circuit, the circuit turn-off condition and the size of the leakage induction, which requires the leakage induction of the switching transformer must be relatively small.

If the working magnetic flux density selection is large, the switching transformer will occur magnetic saturation at the moment of power-on. Because the switching transformer and the power switch tube are directly connected and have a high voltage, if the switching transformer is saturated, even if it is a short period of several cycles, it is easy to damage the power tube. Generally, soft start circuit is used in control circuit to avoid transient saturation.
