In order to improve the sealing performance and wear resistance, PTFE and other materials are often inlaid on the sealing surface, which has a double sealing effect of PTFE to metal and metal to metal. The PTFE sealing surface can also remove dirt from the gate at the same time.
Material selection
Metal materials: Commonly used are copper alloys, stainless steel, alloy steel, etc. Copper alloys such as aluminum bronze have good wear resistance, corrosion resistance and self-lubrication, and are suitable for some occasions with high requirements for sealing performance. Stainless steels such as 304 and 316 have excellent corrosion resistance in corrosive media, which can ensure the long-term stable operation of the valve seat. Alloy steels such as 4130 and 4140 have high strength and hardness and are suitable for harsh working conditions such as high pressure and high temperature.
Non-metallic materials: mainly PTFE, rubber, etc. PTFE has extremely low friction coefficient, excellent corrosion resistance and self-lubricating properties, which can effectively reduce the opening and closing torque of the valve and improve the sealing performance. Rubber materials such as nitrile rubber and fluororubber have good elasticity and sealing properties and are suitable for some low-pressure and normal temperature pipeline systems.
Working principle
Closing process: When the valve is closed, turn the handwheel clockwise, and the gate moves down to the bottom. Due to the effect of the medium pressure, the inlet sealing seat is pushed toward the gate, forming a larger sealing pressure ratio, thereby forming the first seal. At the same time, the gate is pressed against the outlet sealing seat to form a double seal.

Opening process: When opening the gate, rotate the handwheel counterclockwise, the gate moves up, and the guide hole and the channel hole are connected.
