1. Plastics:

Steel: For example tool steel, stainless steel for use that needs high hardness and are resistant to wear like molds, cutting tools among others.

3. Ceramic materials:
Normally used for the purposes in which the use of very high hardness, very high melting point, very high insulating, corrosion resistant metals are desired like in use in the manufacturing of electronic uses, small components in high temperature.

4. Composite materials:
Polymer matrix material reinforced with other material having different characteristics like Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP), Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic (GFRP) which is applicable for small parts like sporting goods, aerospace, aircraft, bicycles etc.

5. Rubber and elastomers:
Appropriate in elasticity, sealing and vibration applications for instance in seals and gaskets, shock absorbers, and the like.

6. Engineering plastics:

Such as polyether ether ketone (PEEK), polysulfone (PSU), polyimide (PI), etc. are used for small high performance parts with high temperature resistance, anti-chemical and high strength application like medical products and high-temperature environment etc.
